A Secret Paradise

Nestled deep within the pristine and luscious tropical forest of Brazil’s Costa Verde (the Green Coast), lies a small fishing village of about 35 families, descended from buccaneers and soldiers from a time gone by. Praia de Ponta Negra (Black Tip Beach) can only be accessed by a small boat or on foot.

With a backpack on my back and camera in hand, my friends and I reached Ponto Negra after a 3 hour walk from Laranjeiras Beach. There, we rose with the fishermen as they headed out for the day, and joined their daily afternoon football games on the beach.
